Raining at Sunset, by Chris Thile and Bryan Sutton

Here’s one of the tastiest things I’ve run into in a while: The amazing Chris Thile on mandolin with Bryan Sutton on guitar, playing a beautiful Thile composition called “Raining at Sunset.”

If you like this, by all means track down the outstanding full band version on Thile’s album, “Not All Who Wander Are Lost.” That version includes some virtuoso fiddle, banjo and more.

Heck, that whole album kicks ass, so don’t stop at one song.

  1. Ellie: Glad you liked it. If you are a Pandora fan, try looking up my station called “Insanity Preservation Project.” It is seeded with stuff like this, plus some straight-up folk and bluegrass. You might like it.

Gere and I have seen Thile perform live a couple of times with his now-defunct band, Nickel Creek. He is astounding.
